Canon Selphy Printers give you the option to print stunning photos wherever and whenever you desire. The Canon Selphy CP760 Photo Printer is the newest addition to Canon’s range of Selphy photo printers. This particular model is easy to use and is specifically designed for kids, families and non-technical people who just want to print out their digital photographs without having to buy a desktop inkjet printer. Priced at $100, this is a brilliant product for fast prints at home.
The CP-760 is much more smaller in size than the standard inkjet printers as it doesn’t print on usual paper sheets. The printer is only 7.9 inches wide and 3.3 inches high, so that it can easily fit inside a travel bag. However, the CP-760 is not so mobile-friendly, as Canon charges additional $50 for wireless USB Bluetooth key. The package includes the printer itself, a wired power adapter, a paper tape and a few trial 4x6 inch paper sheets.
The printer features a 2.5-inch TFT screen to allow you to preview your pictures before printing them out. There are nine rubber buttons next to the display to allow you to browse through the menu, whereas a media bay beneath accepts memory sticks, SD/MMS cards as well as Compact Flash/Microdrive. A USB port is also included so you can print directly from your digital camera.
Canon Selphy Printers are designed with simplicity in mind. All you need to do is to plug your card into the right slot and press the “print” button. There are some auto-editing options, such as Red-eye Elimination, Scene Select and Portrait Optimizing. If you have large numbers of photos in your camera, you will be frustrated to know that they can’t be viewed in an index before printing. Even though this is not a major drawback, it could be quite irritating to flick through hundreds of photographs in order to find the right one.
A Canon Selphy Photo Printer utilizes dye-sublimation ink technology that uses heat to transfer images onto the paper and Canon offers a number of different media choices, including postcards, greeting cards and 2x3 inch business cards. Canon claims that a single ink cartridge should be sufficient to print a pack of paper. Even though print size is limited to 4x6 inch photos, $100 is not a huge price to pay for CP760’s simple usability and plug and play design.
