The SiPix Pocket Printer

The SiPix Pocket printer is manufactured by SiPix Imaging Inc. who started business in 1999 at the Silicon Valley, California. The company’s expertise lies in designing and manufacturing custom display devices, enabling different system designers to compete in the market and generate profits on their investments. The SiPix Pocket Printer A6 is a small portable printer designed for users who are on the move and may require urgent printouts of information.

The SiPix A6 Pocket Palm Printer comes with the feature of connecting wirelessly to any hand held device through infra red. The advantage of this feature is that you do not need to keep your laptop with you at all times when travelling. Plus it also saves you the trouble of assembling cords.

The SiPix Pocket Printer A6 is extremely compact in size, allowing users to keep it in their pockets. It is also extremely light in weight, weighing slightly over 1 pound. One of the advantages of using the SiPix A6 Pocket Printer is that it works with 4 AA sized batteries. AA batteries cheap and easily available, therefore one does not need to go through the hassle of searching for an expensive compatible battery. Furthermore, the SiPix A6 Pocket Printer can also be powered directly by using the AC power adapter that comes with it. You do not need to rely on batteries if there is a power supply near you.

The SiPix Pocket A6 printer prints on an A6 sized paper, using thermal printing technology. The requirement of a toner or an ink cartridge is therefore eliminated. The printer is capable of printing on both sheet paper as well as a paper roll. The paper roll is around 8 feet in length can be loaded internally.  Sheet printouts, however, are half of what the standard printing size is. The quality of printing is good, with a clear and crisp output. The SiPix printer is capable to printing up to a resolution of 400 dpi and a speed of 2 pages per minute. You can additionally reduce the size of the printout up to 50% of the normal size, as to allow the printing to fit the small size of the paper. A disadvantage of using thermal technology is that the SiPix printer will not print on ordinary paper.  You need to purchase a special thermal printer that will be available in stationary outlets.

The main disadvantage the SiPix Pocket Printer has is that it can be noisy when functioning. Also, SiPix does not provide free software with the SiPix A6 Pocket Printer. You have to purchase compatible software separately to use this printer.
